When John O'Loughlin wrote dialogues, back in the 'seventies and 'eighties, they tended to be one-sided,
in the sense that one of the participants knew more about the subject(s) under discussion than the other, whether because
he was older or just plain wiser, and therefore his collected dialogues, here presented in two volumes, reflect a conversational
